The Westfalia Columbus 540D with pop-up roof combines the exterior dimensions of an exceptionally manoeuvrable campervan with two separate sleeping levels. This lets you decide how to use the available space for every journey: sleep together, have a separate bed each, carry more luggage or travel with three or four people.

You gain the flexibility of a larger campervan without having to drive that extra length every day.

TWO SLEEPING LEVELS, MORE FREEDOM

At the rear, there is a fixed double bed measuring 197 × 130 cm. The pop-up roof adds a spacious second bed measuring 200 × 135 cm.

When travelling as a couple, you can sleep together downstairs or choose a separate sleeping level each. By sleeping upstairs, you can use the rear area more flexibly for luggage, sports gear or other travel equipment. When children, grandchildren or friends join you, four full-size sleeping berths are immediately available.

During the day, the pop-up roof remains closed, preserving the compact profile and low centre of gravity you look for in a campervan. Inside, the Roseland interior, panoramic Skyview roof and dimmable LED lighting create a bright and inviting living space.

5.41 METRES MAKES A DIFFERENCE EVERY DAY

The Columbus 540D never feels like a compromise. Its limited length makes it agile in town centres, on winding roads and around smaller campsites. Parking, turning and manoeuvring are noticeably easier than with a longer campervan.

At the same time, the 180 hp engine provides all the power you need on motorways and mountain roads. Adaptive Cruise Control, automatic climate control, a digital instrument panel, wireless charging and the 10” touchscreen with navigation and DAB radio make long journeys calmer and more comfortable.

Full LED headlights, driver-assistance systems, a reversing camera, heated electrically folding mirrors and an electric parking brake further enhance everyday convenience. The 16” alloy wheels, painted front bumper and black skid plate give this Columbus its sporty appearance.

BUILT FOR MORE THAN SUMMER ALONE

The heating system demonstrates where Westfalia’s technical expertise makes a real difference. This Columbus has a full diesel-powered liquid heating system that distributes pleasant, even warmth through convectors and pipes.

The floor is also heated through integrated channels, even beneath the shower tray. A heated wastewater tank, additional insulation, insulating mats and an extra convector in the cab make travelling in spring, autumn and winter considerably more comfortable.

At the campsite, Plugtronic allows the heating to run on 230V as well. The heated front seats and heated windscreen ensure that the comfort begins as soon as you step inside.

SMARTLY EQUIPPED FOR THE ROAD

The flyscreen door, REMISFRONT blinds, swivelling table extension and wooden Yacht-design shower floor make the compact living area practical for everyday use.

After a bike ride, walk or day at the beach, the hot-and-cold outdoor shower is especially useful. The 20A AC/DC charging booster optimises charging of the leisure battery while driving.
